How should I look after leather Rieker shoes?

Properly caring for leather Rieker shoes can help extend their lifespan and keep them looking and feeling their best. Here are some tips for looking after leather Rieker shoes:

Clean and condition the leather

Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe away any dirt or debris from the surface of the Rieker shoes. If the Rieker shoes are particularly dirty or have scuff marks, you can use a leather cleaner or conditioner to gently scrub them clean.

Protect the leather from water and stains

To help prevent water damage, apply a water-resistant spray or wax to the Rieker shoes before wearing them in wet conditions. To protect against stains, you can also apply a leather protector or a silicone-based spray.

Store the Rieker shoes properly

When not in use, store your leather Rieker shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. If you need to store the Rieker shoes in a closet or other enclosed space, stuff them with newspaper or a shoe tree to help them keep their shape.

Rotate your Rieker shoes

Try to alternate between different pairs of Rieker shoes to allow each pair time to air out and dry between wears. This can help prevent the build-up of odor and moisture inside the Rieker shoes.

Repair any damage promptly

If your leather Rieker shoes develop any holes, tears, or other damage, have them repaired as soon as possible to prevent further deterioration.

  • The most comfortable shoes I’ve ever had – made by Rieker – are now completely worn out and to my dismay I can find nowhere where they can be repaired. The manufacturers don’t offer a repair service, nor can independent cobblers resole them. Any suggestions?
